Kathryn A. McMahon
"I travel extensively and the colors that I see in nature are put on canvas. Painting Plein Air, or Studio paintings are my way of writing a story with color. I will always take my painting equipment.

Painting Landscapes with water, ships and people in this era is my main subject of interest, but as a plein air and studio artist painter I paint wherever I travel.

Living in Colorado has given me great opportunities to paint this beautiful State.

I am not afraid to often experiment with color. I use different color strokes next to each other and that gives a sparkle to many of my paintings. Depending on the brushes I use, thickness of paint, my mood, paintings are often described as bordering on Impressionism and realism.”
