International Plein Air Painters Organization WORLDWIDE
John Stuart Pryce Artist Honorary Signature Member
“Sharing the experience”
The quest for eloquence in my work has been the focus of my energy for many years. Detail for it’s own sake can certainly showcase the artists technical skills, but does not always convey the emotion of a spontaneous sketch or Plein Air painting.
Painting for ones own satisfaction is probably enough incentive for most artists, but I strongly believe that we also have a desire to share the experience with others, just as we enjoy telling an interesting story.
I want the viewer to enjoy the voyage through the painting and experience the emotion that I feel. The emotion that I try to communicate with spontaneous brushwork, shapes, color and use of light.
