Marilyn Fairman - Plein Air Landscape Artist
In the long tradition of the Impressionist painters, I paint "en plein air" throughout all the seasons of the year. Through my paintings, I strives to capture mood and light. Natural light and its play on the day has always drawn me to search out unexpected light and unusual color combinations that occur in nature. My focus is to paint those "special moments when light is flowing over fields and trees -
That special light which transforms a landscape and speaks of a time of day that will quickly pass."

Selected by the Weir Farm Heritage Trust in Wilton, Connecticut to be their 1993-1994 Visiting Artist. This National Historical Site was the home of American Impressionist Painter, J. Alden Weir. At the Farm, I continued in the Weir tradition of painting landscapes on location, giving painting demonstrations, and landscape painting classes.
